The parable of the blind men and the elephant demonstrates how easily people confuse the models created by their senses with actual reality—and how that leads to fighting. These constructs are only approximations as the nature of reality is too complex for us to grasp (even in simple examples). The obvious is only obvious because of specific experiences.[^G1]
