Sprint goal is the stakeholder commitment for a sprint.

It defines an outcome but not the approach to get there. This goal is set during sprint planning in response to product owner’s desired value increase, which should create a coherent and singular focus for the team. The goal should refrain from changing, even if scope is adjusted as result of new information uncovered during the sprint.
