Types of org values.

  • Core values: 2 or 3 behavioral traits inherent to an org. Do not change, part of competitive approach, should be used as a filter for all decisions and baked into all human structures.
  • Permission-to-play values: Behavioral standards. Useful for hiring assessments.
  • Accidental values: Evident behaviors, but not intentional; undesirable?
  • Aspirational values: Values the org needs to consciously inject into its culture to maximize success in current market.
