Getting Things Done methodology has 5 steps.

  1. Capture: Get all open loops recorded.
  2. Clarify: What do the loops mean and what are their actions?.
  3. Organize: Triage actions so they can be done in the most appropriate context.
  4. Reflect: Review system often to keep it current and reliable.
  5. Engage: Do the most important available tasks.
